We’re proud to highlight the remarkable performance of Joel S Shan at the All School U-19 Open Chess Tournament, held on 13th July 2025 at Diyes International School, Parassala.
Competing in the Under-19 category against older and more experienced players, Joel scored an impressive 5 out of 7, finishing 6th overall in a strong field of 50 participants.
Even more impressively, Joel was the highest-placed Under-11 player in the entire tournament, showing exceptional skill, maturity, and determination well beyond his years. His performance rating of 1679 and jump from 38th seed to 6th place reflect his dedication and steady improvement through consistent training.
